Other Book Recommendations

I recently read The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston. I highly recommend this fairly short memoir. It is an unusual book in that it weaves Chinese myth in with (mostly) factual accounts of actual events. The myth serves to elucidate cultural differences, which would otherwise make the factual parts of the book be difficult to understand. -- WHB
